Savage Gear Defiance SG4 Inshore 2.29m (76) 10-45g

The High-Response Striker: Compact Power for Technical Anglers

The Savage Gear Defiance SG4 Inshore 76 10-45g is a specialized tool designed for the angler who operates in high-pressure, close-quarters environments but still requires the grunt to handle heavy lures and powerful fish. At 2.29m, this is one of the most agile rods in the series, offering a shorter lever that translates into incredible tip speed and lure control. This specific model is a favorite for those who find standard 9ft rods too cumbersome for boat, kayak, or technical rock fishing.

The blank is engineered from premium Japanese Toray 30T carbon, featuring 2X Wrap technology. This cross-weave reinforcement provides massive hoop strength, ensuring the rod can handle the high-torque stress of an explosive hook-set or a specimen Bass diving for a snag. Combined with Reset Accelerator Technology, the blank snaps back to center instantly, ensuring your lures are worked with surgical precision and your casting remains crisp and effortless all day long.

Why the Defiance SG4 Inshore 76 45g is a Gerrys Choice:

• Elite Maneuverability: The 76 length is the ultimate choice for active fishing. It allows for effortless, high-frequency lure manipulationsuch as aggressive walk-the-dog surface work or vertical jiggingwithout the fatigue associated with longer rods.

• The Heavy-Finesse Power Band: The 10-45g rating is a formidable power range. It is sensitive enough to feel the vibration of a 12g paddle-tail shad, yet possesses the backbone to launch a 40g metal jig or a large surface chugger with total confidence.

• Fuji-O Stainless Steel Hardware: To ensure long-term durability in the harsh UK salt, the rod is fitted with Stainless Steel Fuji O guides. These provide smooth, friction-free casting and are optimized for modern PE braids to help eliminate wind knots.

• Ergonomic Power Grip: Featuring a special shaped EVA handle design, the rod offers a secure, non-slip grip. The ergonomic profile is designed to reduce hand fatigue during long sessions and provide a solid anchor point when bullying a powerful predator.

• Kayak & Boat Luring: An exceptional rod for boat or kayak use. The shorter length makes landing fish significantly easier alongside the hull, while the 45g backbone provides the strength to stop a diving Pollack or Bass.

• Harbours, Piers & Marinas: Ideal for targeting large fish around heavy structure. The 76 length allows for high-precision sniping between moored boats and pier legs where you need to stop a fish instantly.

• Heavy Surface Luring: A dream rod for working surface lures like the Patchinko 125. The shorter length allows for much more aggressive lure manipulation without the tiresome leverage of a 9ft+ rod.

• Rock Hopping for Specimen Wrasse: If you are fishing heavy kelp with large weedless shads, the 45g rating gives you the confidence to bully a specimen Wrasse out of the weeds before it can snag you.
