Hook and hackle pliers are small gripping tools used in fly tying to securely hold delicate materials like hackle feathers while you wrap them around a hook. When wrapping hackle, the pliers let you guide the feather evenly around the hook shank while keeping consistent pressure, resulting in cleaner, more uniform wraps.
