TO Pathfinder 135mm 26g Total Weight (18g Head / 8g Body)

The HTO Pathfinder 135mm is the larger, specimen-hunting variant of the Pathfinder family. At Gerrys Fishing, we find this 26g total package to be an exceptional long-range sandeel imitation. While the smaller versions excel at finesse, the 135mm model is built to target larger bass and pollack, offering a substantial 13.5cm profile that mimics a mature, high-calorie sandeel.

The Pathfinder is defined by its long, slender geometry and a streamlined jig head that cuts through the water with minimal resistance. This design, combined with a narrow tail section, ensures a high-intensity paddle action that sends out powerful vibrations, while the glow-in-the-dark glitter (in most colors) provides a unique visual trigger in deep or dark water.

Technical Design & Luminous Features

• Mature Sandeel Profile: The 13.5cm length is a perfect match for the larger sandeels found offshore and in deep gullies. This makes it a high-confidence choice for anglers targeting trophy-sized bass that are locked on to larger prey.

• Enhanced Paddle Dynamics: The tail section is intentionally narrow. This allows the paddle tail to oscillate with greater frequency, creating a frantic, swimming vibration that mimics a panicked eel attempting to escape a predator.

• Streamlined 18g Jig Head: The slim head design is engineered for both distance and depth. It helps the lure punch through coastal winds during the cast and reach the strike zone quickly in moderate tides.

• Glow-Energized Glitter: Except for the Sandeel color, the body is impregnated with specialized luminous glitter. When charged with a light source, the glitter glows from within the body, creating a lifelike shimmer that remains visible in murky water or at night.

Tactical Applications

The 26g Pathfinder is a versatile powerhouse for various coastal environments. The Gerrys team suggests:

• Deep-Water Rock Casting: The 26g weight is ideal for casting into deep-water gullies and off rock ledges. Its slender profile allows it to sink quickly to where pollack and coalfish are holding in the kelp margins.

• Night Fishing for Bass: This lure is a secret weapon after dark. Use a UV torch to energize the internal glitter; the soft glow mimics the natural bioluminescence often seen in the sea, providing a subtle target for patrolling bass.

• The Tidal Swing: In estuary mouths or around pier heads with heavy flow, the streamlined design allows the lure to swim naturally in the current without spinning or blowing out to the surface.

• Vertical Boat Spinning: Excellent for light boat work over inshore reefs. The 135mm size provides a significant visual presence, while the 18g head allows for a controlled sink and draw retrieve through the mid-water column.

Gerrys Verdict:

The HTO Pathfinder 135mm combines the classic sandeel silhouette with modern visual technology. It is a highly effective search bait when you need to cover water and attract the attention of large predators. With one head and two bodies per pack, it offers the durability and versatility required for serious saltwater sessions
